Neeley Full Time MBA Overview

The AACSB-accredited Neeley School of Business is the business school of Texas Christian University (TCU), a private university located in Fort Worth, Texas.

TCU offers a wide range of MBA programs, including its flagship, full-time, residential MBA – typically completed over two years/21 months, a professional MBA (PMBA), completed over 24-33 months and three specialized MBAs: an energy MBA (24-33 months part-time), an educational leadership MBA (available as either a full- or part-time program), and a Health Care MBA (available as a part-time program over 24-33 months).

TCU invites prospective MBA students to discover its resume-transforming “stand and deliver” experience. The TCU MBA aims to facilitate targeted career change, bring out students’ personal best through one-to-one interactions with faculty and colleagues, and provide stimulating global networking and career connections – including within the immediate Dallas-Fort Worth location, which is home to 10,000 corporations, providing ample opportunities for internships, networking, and job prospects. With a proven return on investment and generous scholarships available, the TCU MBA makes for an affordable and rewarding educational investment.

The TCU MBA offers students many avenues for acquiring valuable real-world experience while completing the program, including opportunities for managing its roughly US$1.5m Educational Investment Fund, competing in national case competitions, consulting for live and Fortune 500 clients through the Neeley & Associates Consulting firm, and global experiences, such as travelling to India to analyze global supply chain.

The 54-semester hour, full-time MBA curriculum consists of 24 hours of broad, integrated core courses with 30 hours of elective courses, with concentrations available in one of four areas (accounting, finance, marketing, and supply chain), and additional emphasis in consulting, energy, healthcare, real estate, and entrepreneurship. Students learn the practical side of business through real-world case studies, and work within a small-group cohort (a four or five-person team) on projects throughout the first year. The first term concludes with an “Integrative Project” – a business simulation.

During the first-year spring term, many students join a Neeley & Associates Consulting team to get real work-based learning experience. There’s a required summer internship between the first and second years. In the second year, students focus on the courses, consulting projects, and career activities related to their area of interest and career. Fort Worth is home to numerous museums, theaters, restaurants, parks, and bike trails, as well as many businesses, including the headquarters of American Airlines, RadioShack, and Pier 1, among others. These companies provide ideal networking, mentoring, interning, and job-hunting opportunities.

The typical entering class of full-time MBAs is between 50 and 60 students with an average GMAT score of 640 and acceptance rate of 55%. The class entering Fall 2017 was comprised of 21% female and 26% international students. Post-graduation, 65% of students are employed within three months, with an average base salary of US$93,010 (2016 figures) – representing an increase of over 100% on average pre-MBA salaries.
