MBA

Since its foundation in 1985, SYSBS has quickly built a reputation as a premier business school in China and Asia, with global impact. It has concentrated on creating an elite teaching force, with 92% (30%) of its faculty holding doctorate degrees from leading schools overseas along with experience of study, work, and research abroad, and over 50 courses offered in English. SYSBS also is one of only three business schools in China (and 58 in the world) to hold triple accreditation.

SYSBS’s vision is to develop principled and talented leaders to become the business equivalent of China's Whampoa Military Academy, though an integration of Chinese and Western management wisdom, integrity, innovation, and social responsibility. Its values are in line with the SYSU motto: “Study extensively, enquire accurately, reflect carefully, discriminate clearly, practice earnestly. “

The SYSBS MBA program is delivered at the main Sun Yat-Sen University campus in Guangzhou, the capital of China’s thriving Guangdong province. Near Hong Kong and Macao, it is at the forefront of Chinese mainland development. It has excellent learning facilities, with an expanded campus (around 2 million sqm²), 20+ multidisciplinary research centers, and access to SYSU’s Tianhe-2 – the world’s second-fastest supercomputer.

SYSBS offers a two-year, full-time International MBA (IMBA) and a full-time, 20-month US MBA in partnership with the University of Hawaii (with the first year in China and the second year in Hawaii, with the degree awarded in Hawaii), both in English, and a Dual MBA (WS).

The SYSBS IMBA program offers the following areas of concentrated study: accounting, arts administration, communications, consulting, corporate social responsibility/ethica; business analytics/decision science, e-commerce, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, general management, human resource management, international business, investment management, leadership, management information systems, marketing, non-profit, operations management, organizational behavior, portfolio management, project management, risk management/assurance, strategy, supply chain management, tax, and innovation.

SYSBS has class sizes of around 40, with 11% international students from 10 countries, and widespread territories within mainland China; 44% of the student body are female students. These in turn are taught by 71% international faculty with a 30% female faculty (and 14% female board).

SYSBS has also built up extensive corporate partnerships with leading multinationals IBM, DHL, Coca-Cola, and Allianz Group, among others, and national companies, e.g. Bank of China and ICBC. Post-graduation, 99% of students are employed within three months, with an average salary of US$55,288.
