Curriculum & Electives

The core curriculum of the Amsterdam MBA consists of four clusters addressing various key challenges for future leaders in business and society. Students also take part in the Amsterdam Leadership Programme (ALP) and an In-Company Project. 

You will become an expert in the following four clusters:

The Amsterdam Leadership Programme

The ALP is about developing your personal and professional leadership skills, building unique leadership talents and gaining top management insights. The idea is not to provide a single ‘correct’perspective, but rather to encourage personal reflection and insight critical for future work and personal success.

In-Company Project

Applying the acquired knowledge to real world business challenges, students develop their consulting skills in a self-selected company environment ranging from start-ups to multinational enterprises. Companies that have participated in our MBA In-Company Project include Avanade, TomTom, Heineken, Vodafone, Philips and several start-up companies.

MBA part-time:  facts & figures

  • Start date: September
  • Duration: 24 months
  • 7 hours per week of scheduled class time (3.5 hours per class, twice a week from 18:30 - 22:00). Evenings vary per block
  • 15-20 hours per week for preparation, casework and assignments
  • Exams, resits, career workshops or company visits may take place on Friday during the day or evening
  • Officially recognized Master’s degree. Title to be obtained: MBA

  • GMAT / GRE score report (waivers available for candidates with an MSc degree)

What is a boutique MBA?

The Amsterdam MBA is a boutique MBA, where personal attention is in the centre of how we work with, and for our MBA candidates. We carefully select only 25 full-time and 25 part-time candidates, to encourage classroom discussions and your own contribution. After all, you can only learn from each other if you also get the opportunity to share your ideas.

Is the GMAT compulsory?

The GMAT is compulsory for candidates who have a Bachelor’s as their highest degree. We give exemptions for candidates who have pursued a business  or quantitative Master’s, e.g. in the field of mathematics, physics, finance or international business. Please check with the MBA Admissions Team if you are eligible for a GMAT waiver.
