MBA Curriculum

The curriculum of the Amsterdam MBA consists of four clusters that address key challenges for future leaders in business and society. In addition to having a profound knowledge of general management issues related to an organisation’s strategy and operations, top managers require exceptional leadership skills, a profound understanding of the financial side of their business and an in-depth knowledge of emerging trends that sustainably impact both the economic landscape and the broader society. Therefore, we defined four clusters: (1) Leadership, (2) Strategy & Operations, (3) Finance & Accounting, and (4) Contemporary Management Issues.

The Amsterdam MBA is a unique experience in a vibrant environment preparing you for the challenges and opportunities in international business and strategy.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a boutique MBA?

The Amsterdam MBA is a boutique MBA, where personal attention is in the centre of how we work with, and for our MBA candidates. We carefully select only 25 full-time and 25 part-time candidates, to encourage classroom discussions and your own contribution. After all, you can only learn from each other if you also get the opportunity to share your ideas.

Is the GMAT compulsory?

The GMAT is compulsory for candidates who have a Bachelor’s as their highest degree. We give exemptions for candidates who have pursued a business- or quantitative master’s, e.g. in the field of mathematics, physics, finance or international business. Please check with the MBA Admissions Team if you are eligible for a GMAT waiver.

What do you expect from an Amsterdam MBA candidate?

Like any other MBA programme, we want ambitious and intelligent candidates who have a story to share. Moreover, we are looking for leadership potential, people who can inspire and have a critical and open mindset.

Why should we choose the Amsterdam MBA?

The Amsterdam MBA has Triple Crown accreditation, only 25 carefully selected students, a 96% job placement rate and we are located in the heart of Amsterdam, where all major (international) businesses are having their offices. The University of Amsterdam is also consistently ranked as the top university in the Netherlands.

What does the application process entail?

The application process consists of three steps, Application (1), Assessment (2) and Interview (3). In total, the application process takes around 4 weeks’ time.
