FAQs

Clarkson’s 38-credit residential MBA program gives you a solid business foundation with enough electives to tailor your MBA to your career goals. You’ll study theory and practical business application, develop critical leadership and problem-solving skills, and tackle multifaceted, real-world problems, preparing you for success in today’s ever-changing economy. You can use your electives to complete a study track in an area of interest, earn a dual degree in Environmental Policy or Data Analytics, or study abroad for a semester.
Clarkson offers $3,00 graduate assistantships so long as positions are open. Common openings include assisting business school professors, performing administrative or secretarial tasks, and working in the Graduate School of Business office. Clarkson will examine your resume and place you in the position that best fits you. Some GA positions offer more than $3,000 in payment, but come with commensurate workload increases.
Clarkson has two options for an international experience. The first is a two week, faculty-led international business trip. Students will choose between a number of options for faculty led trips that include both cultural visits and business opportunities. Students will meet with a wide range of international businesses while abroad to learn more about foreign business practices and business in a worldwide context. Students choosing to spend 18 or more months in our MBA program also have the option to spend a full semester abroad. Students have the opportunity to spend a semester in countries like China, France and Australia, studying at an accredited foreign school and immersing themselves in a foreign culture. This semester takes place in the spring, and replaces the normal certification electives. Students have an opportunity to pick up a certification in certain fields that Clarkson does not offer but that our partner institutions do, such as human resources or marketing.
During the spring semester in our 9-month MBA, Clarkson students will earn a certificate in one of 4 concentrations: -Data Analytics -Environmental Policy -New Ventures -Supply Chain These certificates consist of 5 electives and will be included on diplomas upon graduation.
