The MBA program at Freeman School of Business helps students develop the financial and analytical skills that are essential for business leaders. It is a two-year, four-semester, full-time program. The MBA curriculum helps students acquire knowledge in all areas of business.

 The first year of study for the MBA involves classes in management communication, global leadership – economic environment of global business, accounting measurement, reporting, and control, marketing, and strategic management. In addition to the core classes, that develop a common body of knowledge in practical business matters, there are also specializations available for further study. While no concentration or specialization is required to earn the MBA, this option provides students with the opportunity to personalize the MBA program to meet both academic and career goals. The concentrations are available in analytics, energy, entrepreneurship, finance, international business, and strategic management and leadership.

Freeman has a huge range of additional programs and activities that help strengthen students’ expertise. These include the Burkenroad Reports, which is a sponsored securities analysis program. The program follows 40 small-cap public companies that are headquarted in six southern states. Teams meet with top management, visit company sites, design financial models, and publish in-depth, unbiased investment research reports. There is also the Darwin Fenner Student Managed Fund course, where students actively manage nearly US$4.5 million in three separate equity portfolios. Students build propriety industry sector models and make investment decisions with real portfolios.

Freeman School of Business emphasizes teaching global commerce and strategy, which is why every MBA student graduates with a supporting concentration in international business. All MBA students will travel as a class to three different areas of the world, such as Europe, Latin America, and Asia, as part of the required core curriculum. The students complete projects with international executives, where they travel to various countries to experience the business environment internationally. There are also global modules to provide students with a unique global insight and first-hand international business experience.

Graduates of the Freeman School of Business at Tulane University enjoy great success. The class of 2016 had an 86% employment rate, with a mean base salary of US$72,658. The highest salary recorded for a graduate was $160,000. Employers from the MBA program include Ernst & Young, Entergy, New Orleans Redevelopment Fund, SBP, Louisiana Department of the Treasury, NextEra Energy, China Shop Services, LLC, LG Chem, and Harris County Civil District Courts.
