MBA
A recent generous donation from former University of Oklahoma (OU) alumni Gene Rainbolt has created a new 27,000-square-foot flagship facility at Price College of Business. The Gene Rainbolt Graduate School of Business sits in the heart of Oklahoma City (OKC) at OU’s University Research Park on the Health Sciences Center campus. Officially launched in autumn 2017 it is strategically located between the downtown energy and financial sector hubs in the west of the city and the growing healthcare and aerospace sectors to the east, the facility is now home to OU’s full-time and professional MBA programs, in addition to its growing executive education programs.
The Price College MBA is a cohort-based program of enhanced teamwork and collaboration through designed case studies and interactive learning. Students can choose to specialize with electives in energy, finance, entrepreneurship, management information systems, healthcare administration, digital technologies, or media management. The college also offers several dual-degree options, including MS-MIT/MBA, MAcc/MBA, and JD/MBA, as well as an accelerated PE/MBA and ISE/MBA, and an MBA combined with a BS in petroleum engineering.
The full-time MBA is spread over the course of 16 months and ahead of the program commencing, all full-time MBA students participate in Prelude Week. This is week in which they are orientated to the college and course through brushing up their quantitative skills, compete in a case competition, and bond through sports and other team-building exercises. Class sizes are relatively small (around 36) with some international diversity (31%), though only 28% female.
The cost for all fees and tuition is currently US$34,000 for Oklahoma residents and US$54,000 for non-Oklahoma residents. Scholarship opportunities are available on a competitive basis to qualified MBA students who meet high academic standards. Scholarship amounts typically range from US$1,000-5,000 per year.
Two new additions to the full-time Price MBA program include experiential courses – two applied-learning courses that enable and encourage students to work together with executives to solve real-world problems, the Industry Practicum and the Consulting Externship; and an international experience, which can be done alternately as a two-week study abroad, or via the Summer Scholar program, in which high-achieving students focus on a major city or company and its role in the global business world.
Graduate students of the Price College of Business can join the Graduate Business Association, which helps students build leadership skills, fundraise, and network. At graduation, 50% of students are employed, with a median base annual salary of US$54,000.
