Executive MBA (part-time) Overview

Surrey's Executive MBA (part-time) is a transformational experience, both personally and professionally. It has been specifically designed to help you balance a demanding career and personal commitments with a 24-month period of intensive study and professional development. You will put theory to the test and skills into practice as you learn alongside your career with other students from a wide range of business backgrounds and sectors.

From our innovative modules that address the pressing issues of the modern business world, to our careers session and workshops, our holistic and integrated course provides students with a valuable, transferable and highly employable set of skills

The Executive MBA (part-time) is spread over three stages, with a weekend induction and a focus on working in small teams alongside individual learning:

  • Compulsory modules - Full-time and Executive MBA (part-time) students study the same compulsory modules, with their delivery and assessment tailored for each programme
  • Elective modules - Students will select two elective modules
  • Integrative Applied Project - the project can take three forms: business plan, consultancy project or dissertation.


Dedicated Careers Coaching and Support
As part of this course, you will have access to professional coaching and careers experts to provide you with support that is tailored to your individual requirements. From the moment you start with us, you will be connected with a careers advisor who will provide direction in a number of areas, such as:

  • Professional positioning training, including advice on the MBA job market, developing a positioning strategy, CV building and online networking
  • Professional positioning in person including interview preparation, group dynamics and assessment, pitching yourself and presentations
  • Professional positioning on paper
  • Mock interviews
  • Mock assessments
  • One-to-one coaching throughout the MBA.


International Study Tour (subject to Covid-19 restrictions)
The optional Surrey International MBA Study Tour provides the opportunity to travel to a selected international destination and be immersed in another culture, in order to develop a deeper global business mind set. You will have access to company visits and lecture sessions delivered by top international academics, offering exclusive industry insights from an international perspective; as well as cultural days to explore the country’s top attractions and landmarks.

Entry requirements

A UK honours degree, or a recognised equivalent international qualification. You must also have at least five years’ experience in a managerial role to apply. We can also consider you if you don’t have a degree but do have a relevant professional training qualification and at least six years managerial work experience.

What are the course fees for the program?

Full time and Executive MBA (part-time) fees for 2021 entry is £25,400.

How are scholarships awarded and what are the eligibility requirements?

Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis and therefore candidates who apply early in the admissions round will have a greater opportunity to receive an award. Scholarships will cover up to 50% of the total tuition fee of the programme.

What are the English Language/IELTS requirements?

You will need good written and spoken business English language skills. If English is not your first language, you will be required to have either of the below:

- IELTS (academic): minimum of 6.5 overall, with no less than 6.0 in any component;
- Pearson (academic): minimum of 62 overall, with no less than 56 in any component.
