Vlerick Business School (originally, the Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School) is a triple-accredited, autonomous management school of the Katholieke Universitat (KU) Leuven (Catholic University of Leuven), founded in 1953 by Baron André Vlerick, a leading Belgian politician, professor, investor, and entrepreneur.

Vlerick’s 50-strong international faculty is made up of renowned experts in their field, who maintain close ties to local, European, and international businesses to bring these concerns to the fore of Vlerick’s teaching. This ensures they provide specific expertise in the areas of digital transformation, entrepreneurship and innovation, healthcare, energy, and financial services.

VLerick’s motto is: “Learn it, live it.” It aims to provide an education that fosters an international spirit, addresses leading-edge managerial issues, is academically sound, and develops an entrepreneurial attitude. Its vision is to be a transformative place where people and organizations meet to challenge themselves, the status quo, and the changing world, inspired by the Vlerick values of passion, openness, vitality, and entrepreneurship. Study at Vlerick does not only draw on the latest theories, but ensures these are put into practice via role plays, case studies, assignments, coaching, and study trips, augmented with constant learning online wherever students are in the world.

The Vlerick MBA is a general management program with a strong international focus, aimed at professionals with at least three years of work experience. It gives participants up-to-date theoretical insights in relation to practical experience, all within an intellectually stimulating environment shared with similarly experienced fellow participants. This includes a wide range of boot camps, internationally and locally taught electives, business labs, case studies, and study trips. The program also offers a set of professional career-coaching sessions, mentorship programs, company presentations, and networking and recruitment events to help students craft a career strategy in preparation for their dream job.

Vlerick’s flagship full-time MBA in Brussels aims to get students ready to take their place in the business world. The program is based in the heart of the city, in the thriving hub of international trade, commerce, and government. It combines an exceptional location with an international faculty, hands-on business experience, and a diverse student body to ensure the Vlerick MBA experience delivers beyond expectations.

Vlerick’s student body make-up is very international, with 77% from outside Belgium, of which females comprise 45%. This, along with the diverse international campuses and co-programs, results in 17,000 alumni spread across 100 different countries. Notable alumni include Paul Bulcke, CEO of Nestlé, Marc Coucke, co-founder of Omega Pharma, and Frank Meysman, Chairman of Thomas Cook Group plc.

Post-graduation, 62% of Vlerick’s MBA students are employed within three months (90% at six months; 69% are based in Europe), earning an average salary of US$97,960 – representing an increase of 72% on pre-MBA income. Companies that have employed Vlerick graduates include: Accenture, Amazon, Paribas, Brussels Airlines, Cargill, CG Holdings, Cisco, Citibank, Coca-Cola, Delhaize Group, Deloitte, Dow Corning, Ernst & Young, GE, GlaxoSmithKline, HSBC, IKEA, Johnson & Johnson, McKinsey, Microsoft, Nielsen, Novartis and PWC.
