The admissions team will process applications and will make conditional offers until test centers reopen.

COVID19 information:
IMD has not changed the Executive MBA program due to Covid-19.
It continues to be a rigorous, senior executive level degree program.
However, we have had to adapt to the Crisis for participants currently in the program, with offering program pathways to allow participants to graduate while achieving the program learning objectives and degree requirements. There have been valuable learnings as a result of this pandemic, primarily around maintaining close contact with our participants through regular, open communications - despite limited face-to-face modules. This has helped us to continue to innovate our online delivery with improved digital facilities and capabilities.
We continue to receive an uninterrupted stream of inquiries about the program, profile assessment requests, as well as complete applications for our upcoming cohorts.
Prospective candidates and applicants can contact us through our usual channels via e-mail at
Recruitment events continue to run; however, we have adapted our events to delivery in the virtual domain, i.e., we continue to attend Online EMBA Fairs with the major service providers, including QS. Also, we regularly conduct virtual interactive faculty-led EMBA Master Classes and Online Information sessions.
We encourage all potential candidates to establish contact with our Admissions and Advisory teams for a personalized consultation about the Executive MBA program and how the program may help them achieve their aims.
N.B. Relating to the Industry Information item below: as there is no provision for free-text entry, I wanted to make the following remark. We have introduced a one-off fully digital Foundation Stage (replacing a physical 20-day on-campus module, Foundations for Business Leadership, FBL, and combining it with a 5-week online pre-existing module, Advanced Management Concepts (AMC) to enable entry into our EMBA Mastery Stage starting on November 17, 2020). When checking the "Virtual apprenticeships" option - the note above relates to that selection as a specific Covid-19 response from IMD

One of the important factors when considering a master's degree is the cost of study. Luckily, there are many options available to help students fund their master's programme. Download your copy of the Scholarship Guide to find out which scholarships from around the world could be available to you, and how to apply for them.
Do I need to apply for the first admissions application deadline?
No you do not. While we do not have any fixed quotas, we do space out the number of people we take for each of the five deadlines so that we can balance out the diversity in the class in terms of function, industry and overall background as well as nationality. This means that we still have seats available in September, especially if you have a unique aspect to your profile.
Do I need to have leadership experience to get in?
While some of our applicants already have leadership experience, it is not a requirement. When we read your application, we are looking for your potential in leadership - often seen through your letters of recommendation and/or your previous work experience or extra curricula activities. The program then aims to develop that potential.
Who should my letters of recommendation come from?
Your three confidential letters of recommendation give us an extra assessment of your overall personality, your business achievements and your leadership capabilities. We therfore prefer that you have letters from people who you’ve worked with - your former supervisor or your current supervisor or boss, a client, or even a colleague. But what we don’t want to see at IMD is, for example, the CEO to write a letter for you just because he/she is the CEO. Their position doesn’t necessarily matter; we want to just make sure that they know something about you and can attest to your business acumen. We typically don’t like professors to write letters of recommendation just because a professor cannot really attest to anybody’s business experience after seven or eight years.
Do I need to be 31 with 7 years of work experience?
No - these are just averages. In order to apply you need to be at least 25 and you need a minimum of 3 years full-time, post-graduate work experience.
Do I need to have international work experience in order to apply?
You do not need to have lived or worked outside of your home country, however you do need to have international exposure. For example, a Chinese person in China dealing with countries outside of their countriy, or travelling for business, or someone who has studied abroad, travelled extensively for leisure and/or speaks foreign languages. Bring out all aspects in your application.
