University information

For this MBA degree, we want people who:

  • have excelled in previous academic achievements
  • are highly motivated and ambitious, thrive under pressure, and have already exhibited clear career progression
  • have international experience through their work, with a global outlook
  • are confident, resilient, creative and innovative, with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

We are committed to admitting a diverse cohort each year. We need to ensure all students can cope with the intellectual rigours of a University of Cambridge degree. Their prior work experience must be of a standard which prepares them to contribute to the MBA experience fully.

However, we are mindful of the varying routes and metrics that can be used to assess suitability. We take a holistic approach in reviewing an applicant’s profile.

For that reason, we happily consider applications from non-standard cases who, although have a strong profile and application, perhaps do not meet one of our requirements.

Cambridge Judge Business School sits right in the middle of the city, surrounded by Colleges, and is a few minutes’ walk from King’s College Chapel and the River Cam.

This is a unique and beautiful city in which to spend 12 months studying for your MBA. It is a small town, easy to cycle across, with plenty of green space and beautiful historic architecture.

Our students enjoy the setting as an inspiring backdrop for study and collaboration. But Cambridge is only 45 minutes from London by train, so you will also feel connected to the capital and the opportunities for work and leisure there.

All Cambridge MBAs become a member of one of the University’s Colleges, allowing students to experience the rich history and traditions of the University of Cambridge. Colleges offer accommodation including facilities for dining and socialising. Most MBAs choose to live in their College, with some providing single or family accommodation.

Each College has its own internal governance and procedures. They select their own students, subject to University regulations, and most admit both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

It is the responsibility of the MBA Admissions team to apply and secure a College place for you. This process happens after you have accepted an offer to join the MBA.

The MBA from Cambridge Judge Business School has maximum impact when you work in partnership with the Careers team.

The Career Development Programme is carefully designed to adapt to individual needs and deliver the broad range of skills needed to achieve significant professional transformations.

MBAs receive one-to-one coaching throughout the year from members of the dedicated MBA Careers Team based at the School as well as from external Careers Consultants with specialism in industry sectors.

The Career Development Programme covers three key strands:

  • understanding yourself and defining your career goals
  • job search and planning skills
  • making successful job applications and effective interview skills.

Our recruiters represent a range of leading firms including Amazon, Deloitte, Boston Consulting Group, JP Morgan, McKinsey & Company, and Shopee.

FAQs

No, we do not specify a minimum GMAT score - it is just one of the many criteria we consider in the selection process. However, the majority of our students have a score above 640, and the average for this year's class is 690. We look for good balanced scores on the verbal, quantitative and analytical writing sections of the test, which demonstrate to us that you have the variety of skills required to succeed on the Cambridge MBA.

Visit the Fees and funding page for details of scholarships, bursaries and loans.

Our MBA is a general management programme. However, you can tailor the programme to meet your own needs and post-MBA employment aims through electives and projects. In this way you are able to gain all the basic general management skills and specialise in almost any area of management.

There are 31 Cambridge colleges, but not every college takes MBA students every year. If you are made a conditional offer of a place on the MBA programme, we will put you forward for membership of a college which has places for MBA students. However, it is very difficult to say which college this is likely to be until nearer the time. Applying early may give us more of a chance to place you in a college of your preference, but this can never be guaranteed.
