Master of Business Administration Overview

The full-time MBA at the Victoria Graduate School of Business is an 18-month program. The MBA does not assume students will have prior knowledge in business or management, and so covers a broad range of subjects that will give them a solid knowledge base of business administration.

The program has a number of course objectives for its MBA students. These include, that on successful completion of the course, students should be able to critically reflect upon theoretical approaches; justify and interpret theoretical propositions and critically evaluate the resolution of business problems; use cross disciplinary knowledge to inform their decisions; and demonstrate accountability in autonomous and collaborative judgments.

The program includes capstone units, elective units, a research proposal unit, and a minor thesis unit. It focuses on a number of disciplines, such as ethics and sustainability, leadership and strategy, enterprise resource planning systems, accounting and finance, human resource management and industrial relations, information systems, marketing, logistics and supply chain management, sport business, and innovation, knowledge and change management.

Australian graduates of the MBA program at the Victoria Graduate School of Business earn some of highest MBA compensation in the world (salary plus bonus) in the world, an average of A$115,600 (US$87,737).

The school has links with Certified Practicing Accountants, the Governance Institute of Australia, the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, and the Graduate Management Association of Australia. These links firmly help students in the transition to employment.
