Top 10 MBA Programs in Asia 2021

Updated April 16, 2021 Updated April 16, 2021The QS Global MBA Rankings 2021 have been released today, ranking business schools from around the world. The rankings are also split up into regions: Europe, Asia, Oceania, Latin America, US and Canada.
MBA programs were ranked based on the indicators of employability, entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes, return on investment, thought leadership, and diversity. You can find out more about the rankings’ methodology here.
The top 10 business schools in the Asia MBA Rankings 2021 are:

10) Antai College of Economics & Management
The first school on the list is Antai, whose MBA program was the first in China to earn triple accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA). The IMBA features classes taught completely in English, allowing for a highly international curriculum. The program scored highly for return on investment.
9) Indian Institute of Management (IIM) – Bangalore
The full-time two-year MBA from IIM Bangalore is an intensive residential program that provides students with a solid foundation in key management concepts and disciplines. The program focuses on different areas of business, including Public Policy, Entrepreneurship, Corporate Governance and Supply Chain Management.
8) Indian Institute of Management (IIM) – Ahmedabad
In eighth place is IIM Ahmedabad, whose full-time MBA program received high scores for return on investment and entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes. The school offers semester-long exchange opportunities and dual degree options in partnership with ESSEC Paris and the University of Bocconi.
7) The University of Hong Kong
Next is the full-time MBA from the University of Hong Kong. The one-year program is intensive with three tracks available for students to choose from. All students spend nine months in Hong Kong to study Asia-Pacific focused core and elective subjects. Then, depending on the track they choose, they spend four months in London, New York or Hong Kong/Shanghai to further strengthen their global business knowledge.
6) HKUST Business School
Gaining three places from last year’s rankings, HKUST’s MBA program scored highly for thought leadership, coming in sixth. The program can be completed in as little as 12 months or students can choose a longer model of 16 months. The program includes internship and exchange opportunities. After graduation, students can join elective classes as alumni.
5) China Europe International Business School (CEIBS)
Halfway through the list is CEIBS, which offers an 18-month full-time MBA taught entirely in English. The program focuses on developing participants’ leadership, professionalism, sense of social responsibility, cross-cultural competence, and entrepreneurial spirit. CEIBS received one of the highest scores on the list for return on investment.
4) Nanyang Business School, Singapore
The Nanyang MBA is an intensive one-year program with a focus on the Asian business landscape. Based at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, the 12-month course allows students to gain practical real-world insights into business models, management philosophies and academic theories across a wide range of industries.
3) National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School
Gaining a place from last year’s rankings and kicking-off the top three is NUS Business School, based in Singapore. The 17-month NUS MBA helps students strengthen their business knowledge with international exchange programs, case competitions, internships, global immersion trips, and a strong student club ecosystem.
2) ESSEC Business School
In second place is the ESSEC Global MBA, a 12-month full-time program delivered in Singapore. Students can choose from three majors – Strategy & Management, Luxury Brand Management, and Strategy & Digital Leadership – to tailor the curriculum to their professional needs. The school received high scores for return on investment and entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes.
1) INSEAD
Retaining the crown for the best MBA program in Asia is INSEAD. The accelerated 10-month program received the highest scores on the list for employability and thought leadership. The first part of the INSEAD MBA is built around 14 courses, but during the second part of the MBA, students can choose from over 75 different electives in a wide range of academic area. The program is highly international, with over 90 nationalities represented in the classroom.
